Many screaming girls thronged the Landmark Sunshine Cinema to catch a glimpse of “Gossip Girl” star Chace Crawford at the premiere of his gritty drug drama “Twelve,” but it was the NYPD who stopped traffic — to make way for President Obama’s motorcade during his visit to New York on Wednesday. The ensuing confusion made it difficult for the cast of the flick to show up for their own premiere.

“We shut down the street for the premiere and for me,” Crawford joked to MTV News. “I didn’t want any traffic on Houston [Street] and then Obama just swooped in — figures! I mean, I called and invited him and texted him and he didn’t want to come. It’s just a mess!”
